Due to a new political view and the abolition of the tolerance policy on recreational grounds we have no choice but abandon our initial dream and adjust our goals for the futur.

Permenant living on certain recreational grounds in Belgium is no longer tolerated and by consequence we cannot live on daily basis at Hamadryad.

We deeply regret the arbitraryness and discrimination with wich this new political view is forced upon a part of the owners of recreational grounds.

We have taken some time to consider what our initial goals were when we first started the Hamadryad project: We wanted to demonstrate the possibility to live in nature without harming it on long term. We wanted to share our findings on low impact solutions with as many people as possible so we can learn from eachother and start living in a more durable and ecological way.

We still want to do this!
(Oooh Yes, we are stubborn!)

This is why we agreed that the best way to do this is to continue building, continue finding low impact solutions and giving you the possibility to actually experience all this yourself!

In the future you will be able to rent Hamadryad and experience low impact living yourself! You can spend your hollidays at Hamadryad and find out how it feels to live in an organic shaped strawbale house. You'll get a good impression of solutions that help saving our environment and offcourse spend some time in nature, surrounded by squirrels, owls, foxes and gnomes!
